How do I determine if my substances are on the DSL?

You can check to see if a substance has been listed on the DSL using the DSL search engine.

You can search via CAS Registry Number, EC number (Enzyme Commission number), or for substances that have been listed on the Confidential inventory (Confidential DSL), the Confidential Accession number.

It is important to determine if a substance is listed on the DSL or the Non-domestic Substances List (NDSL). Substances not on the DSL are subject to notification requirements under the New Substances Notification Regulations. If a substance is listed on the NDSL, there are reduced notification requirements. Please contact us for help with Canadian DSL/NDSL inventory issues.
