You can search via CAS Registry Number, EC number (Enzyme Commission number), or for substances that have been listed on the Confidential inventory (Confidential DSL), the Confidential Accession number.

It is important to determine if a substance is listed on the DSL or the Non-domestic Substances List (NDSL). Substances not on the DSL are subject to notification requirements under the New Substances Notification Regulations.
