When do I need to update my SDS?

Typically, the following will trigger a requirement to update or revise an SDS:

1. Change in formulation, or in some cases a change of supplier(s).
2. Becoming newly aware of any significant information regarding the hazards of the product.

In the United States, all SDS must be revised according to the new HazCom 2012 Final Rule prior to June 1, 2015.

As well, in Canada, all (M)SDS must be updated at least once every 3 years, or when the supplier becomes aware of any new information, whichever comes first.
